Been doing much more posting on Facebook (facebook.com/chrisrobonline)and twitter (twitter.com/chrisrobonline)nowadays, so excuse my lack of website blogging! In the middle of an incredible tour with the great Talib Kweli....writing from LA at the moment where we just finished up at the Paid Dues festival....headed to shows in Seattle, Portland, and Arcata this week....and coming up soon, Chicago, Ann Arbor, and Indiana University...cause it don't stop!!

 

Look for the "Love U Up" Video, coming soon...the first single from my new album coming to you this summer. 2013 is just too amazing...let's keep it like that. Spread love, and peace, and follow those dreams.

What a amazing year it has been, feeling truly blessed for so many great shows, new friends, and achievements reached this year. Most appreciative of Ms. Roberta Flack for allowing me the honor of producing her latest project "Christmas Songs"(click on the title to check it out)...and to have done one of my hottest last shows of the year with Talib Kweli in my hometown of Chicago! OBAMA WON #1: WAFER-LESS

A beautiful, yet frustrating day today, and here's why.... At about 10 AM while in the midst of discussing Obama's victory with a customer in my neighborhood bodega, out the side of my eye I caught a glimpse of a small box of Nabisco Vanilla Wafers. I thought about grabbing the box and placing it with my other stuff on the counter, but said to myself, "Nah, I'm good." So a few hours later, I'm at home, hearing the crazy wind and rain of New York's latest storm outside my window, and what do I suddenly get an urgent taste for? The Vanilla Wafers!! "Damn Rob!" I thought to myself, they were RIGHT THERE!! But the soldier I am, I threw on my hoodie, hat, and coat and ventured out in the storm, and dashed back to the bodega to grab them, only to find out that they sold the last box. I walked home...in silence......But isn't that what we do in life? We see what we want but we deny ourselves without thinking of the future, without considering how much we may regret passing that opportunity up. Give up on our dreams because we don't "grab them from the shelf, throw them on the counter, and just pay the cost" Let's start new, with our President.... let's push the reset button and go after the things we want in life. Don't sit here like me....3 in the afternoon, a little hungry, and stuck indoors...wafer-less.

Peace everybody..it's been some time since I posted up here...been alot more active on the Facebook and Twitter these days. Been in the midst of a beautiful creative output for the last couple of months...preparing to drop a couple of new projects for you all. Took a break from doing some shows and haven't traveled much since my journey to South Africa with Talib Kweli. Be on the look out for new videos, and new music to get the party started from yours truly.

in the words of Marvin....What's Goin On?  Well, alot is goin on ....this week I am the music directer for "On Earth Together", a dance montage choreographed by the brilliant Ron Brown. The shows take place at The Joyce Theatre on 8th Ave on Tuesday night at 7:30pm, Friday and Saturday shows at 8pm. An intense journey through dance featuring the music of Stevie Wonder. My video for Waiting 4 U premiers this Thursday night in NYC (check the tour page for details), and then on singersroom.com this Friday, the same day I perform outside the World Trade Center at noon. Can you keep up?? See u soon.....

Peace to all my soldiers....

Just want to give you an update on the many great events coming up this summer! Friday, June 29th and Saturday, June 30th, 2012 I will be performing during the Montreal Jazz Fest at the Jello Martini Lounge. Come thru or tell your friends who will be in the area. Following I will be on the west coast performing with Roberta Flack and the San Diego Symphony Orchestra... and coming up on July 12, the premier of my brand new music video for "Waiting for You"! Spread the word, and I hope to see you soon!

What's good world, CR in the building...had some hot shows with the Peace conference at Millenium Brooklyn High School, and of course, at the Williamsburg Music Center. MBHS was a beautiful experience, it was great to bring some culture to the students, and wish them a powerful presence of peace in their school hallways, and through the streets of the New York.

 

The next show is this Memorial Day Weekend at Drom on Sunday night. I will be rocking the monthly Soul Babees party with my band. What a way to hit the peak of the weekend... You know the kid is hyped. Hope to see you there.

Wow! The day after Anita Baker! What an incredible show...this was my second time at Radio City Music Hall after having performed there before with John Legend and Alicia Keys. It was an honor to work with another one of my lifelong idols, and for those of you who caught us on Good Morning America, thanks for tuning in. Look for 'Sweet Dreams" -Anita Baker on Youtube to find our performance that day. 

 

And now for Williamsburg Music Center this Saturday...got a hot show planned for Brooklyn, look forward to seeing you there. More shows coming soon in Atlanta, Washington DC, and at the Montreal Jazz Fest, so I should be seeing you soon. Welcome to my new official site! It has been a wild time for me lately with lots of travel and recording going on, been feeling super blessed and creative. This page is where I will keep you in the know about everything going on in my world. Make sure to stay posted about new music, shows, blogs, and anything else that pops up.

 

Currently, got a brand new single called "All In All" that is hitting the radio waves. This one is about a guy struggling to break through to his girl about his promise to be better to her than the guys from her past. It's super funky, if I must say so myself, and a love song for for the summertime about to hit. Put it on your Itunes BBQ playlist asap!

 

Got a show coming up on May 12th in Brooklyn at the Williamsburg Music Center. Check out the Tour page for more info. In addition to that, I have been doing some incredible shows throughout the US with the legendary Roberta Flack, which has been a daily dose of powerful music and higher learning for me! Also coming up, I will be sitting in with the awesome Anita Baker at Radio City Music Hall on May 6, as well as with the homy and songstress Maya Azucena @ SOB's.
